OUR INSPIRATION

Who is she?

Nada Ann, is an exceptionally loving & talented 70 year old, that has continued to encourage, motivate and inspire both the young and old alike.  Her charm and charismatic nature has yielded her many friends and fitness fans, especially those at our Gym. As vibrant as she is on the inside, her radiant and full of vigor physique is on the outside. Here is one self-motivated and extremely energetic personality that continually multi-tasks, both in her personal life, (tackling the needs and ongoing events of a loving husband of 34 years, 4 adult kids, a plethora of grandkids), and yet, serving as a fitness icon and a role model to many, many engrossed friends and health conscious individuals.

How does she inspire us?
Day in and day out, Nada continues to not only enthuse those that are in their 50s, 60s & up, but those of us that are in our mid 20s as well!  Imagine an individual so devoted to her health & fitness level- so fit in her mind & body, so strong that she engages in level 5 activities in various group fitness classes, and consequently, stimulating & inspiring one & all with her graceful vitality. All, while maintaining her elegantly gorgeous look that, she can pass off as at least 25 years younger!

Life Lessons Learned  from a Pageant

Successful Life Lessons Learned From my First Pageant

Yes! I said Pageant.  As I sit here and think, I am struck by the similarities between Pageants and Real life.  I enjoy studying people and learning what makes them tick.   It just comes natural to me as a coach and a motivation speaker.  Ultimately by studying others I learn more about myself.

Let me start with 1 of the 6 Lessons.  The others  lessons will follow in the next news letters.

1.  We Are All Being Judged

There are winners and losers in life. The key to being a winner in anything you do is to master how to win with grace and to lose with dignity.   Yet we are taught to "go for the Gold". Think about it ...

30 Professional Baseball teams 1 World Champion
500 High School students, 1 Valedictorian
30,000 NYC Marathoners, 1 winner
50,000,000 lotto players, 1 grand winner

Do you see a trend here?  Many participate, almost all are on the loosing end.

Is it all about winning??  You've heard the saying,  "It's not about winning but about how you play the game."  This is a wise saying and very true.

Competition can bring out the worst and best in people. The secret to being a winner lies in your pattern of thought and your attitude. You have to already know that you are a winner before you attempt something new or compete in any event. Your attitude will determine whether you are successful or not. What is your self talk like?  Are you worried about things that are out of your control?... like judges or what other people think? It is important to focus on putting forth a full 100 percent effort in controlling that which we have the most control over.  That is you, your performance and your thoughts.   The competitions really exist within yourself.  When all is said and done it is okay to use your performance, as learning tool to figure out what you can do better next time.  Remember that there lies a possibility that in competition or life, you can lose and still perform well.

Of course it is easier to be a winner when you are in the Winners Circle. It takes more self-confidence and courage to lose with dignity. There will always be winners and losers in competitions, pageants and life.  But, only you can decide what you choose to call yourself.  You can only be judged and labeled by others if you choose to give that power away.

You know in history there were many losers.  Martin Luther King, JFK, Jesus.  You see, they lost by giving up their lives.  But in the end they became real winners.

I want to thank all of you for the great support that was offered to me while I was competing in the National Pageant.  I received the most awards in the Pageant, the most of any competitor, in any division. Most of all though, I did my very best!

-Queen of the "Red Carpet Charity Ball":

To top it off:
-I also won a  pink sapphire and diamond ring during a fund raising raffle
